How much do you know about privacy? The Serious Game launched by the French consumer association UFC-Que Choisir starts from this question, and through this CIE has spread the knowledge about the GDPR Law.

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is the new Privacy regulation that came into force the 25th of May 2018 in all EU Member States. It concerns the protection, processing and free circulation of personal data of the individuals. The objective of the new law is to achieve greater legal certainty, transparency and simplicity of rules on the transferring of personal data from the EU to other countries in the world.

Let's go back to the original question: CIE has submitted the question to an audience of users through the projec Serious Game: How much do you know about Privacy?. Serious Game are interactive virtual simulations equipped with a well-structured goal, in this case the knowledge and the deepening of privacy, in which serious and playful aspects are in balance.

The game, available for free here, starts with the announcement of the marriage of two friends. It will be up to the player to organize the event in record time, facing a series of challenges that revolve around privacy, how to protect it and how not to break it. Organizing the surprise honeymoon without letting the future wife know about it, secretly search on a computer or through her friends for photos of her to be shown at the wedding, "clean up" the social profiles to avoid premarital crises or the sudden return of an ex. Through these particular and amusing situations, the Serious Game aims to make the player understand the importance of privacy and the respect for personal data.
